Mrs. I. V. Colson

Mrs. Ida Virginia Colson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.D. Craft of this city, November 11, at 4:10 P.M. at the age of 66. She was born at Pleasant Ridge, but her parents, Mr. and Mrs. McLean Sanders, moved to Northport when she was quite young. She later moved to Benevola Section in Pickens County where she married and lived until the death of her husband in 1911. Then she moved to Aliceville.

She came to Eutaw six years ago and since that time has made her home with her daughter here. She was in poor health for several years and for the past few months was confined to her home almost entirely. She was confined to her bed several weeks before her death.

Funeral services were held at Bethesda Presbyterian Church where she had been a faithful member since her early life. The services were conducted by Dr. R. E. Fulton. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery by the side of her husband and other relatives.

She was survived by one brother, E. V. Sanders of Detroit, one sister, Mrs. W. Holder, of Warrior, and five children; Mrs. W. C. Evens of Aliceville, Mrs. J.D. Craft, Messrs. Gordon, Homer and Vaughn Colson of Eutaw. Also 15 grandchildren. A large number from Eutaw attended the funeral. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.

The following acted as pallbearers; W.J. Hardy, E. Solomon, A.W. Smith, Stiles Ulmer of Eutaw and Dr. W. W. Duncan and D. W. Windle of Aliceville, and A. T. Abston and E.O. Graham of Benevola.
