Burial Notes: Lucretia’s ancestors are unknown. She married Archelaus Taylor, the son of George W. Taylor and Hannah Jennings, about 1809 in Franklin County, TN. They had 10 children: Matthew, James Hughes, Lucretia, Malachi R., Unity, Mary Dulcena, Leonard, Grant, William Morris, Elizabeth. Their descendants are detailed in Taylors and Tates of the South by Ann K. Blomquist. Additional family information can be gleaned from This Cruel War, in which Ms. Blomquist transcribed the Civil War letters between son Grant Taylor and his wife Malinda Slaughter. [This marker is set beside the original tombstone placed there by her family. The tombstone broke many years ago, but members of Forest Baptist Church repaired it. They lovingly cared for these two graves for decades.]
