MRS. GRADY GANDY

Mrs. Grady Gandy, age 38, died at her home near West Greene, Thursday after a short illness. She was the daughter of John W. Nolen. The funeral service was held Friday afternoon at Pleasant Hill Church, of which the family of Gandy has long been members. Rev. H. E. Davidson officiated with Jones & Spigener in charge.

Deceased is survived by her husband and three sons, Ashley, Luther and Murphy Lee Gandy, and also her father.

Pallbearers were Homer and Robert Carpenter, Sam Richardson, Orman Williams, and Henry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Ullman Taylor, E. Bambarger, W. E. Jacobs, and Walton Hamilton.

Note: This was Eddie Mae Noland Gandy. She was born Dec. 10, 1902 and died July 18, 1940. The obituary is incorrect. Ashley, Luther and Murphy Lee Gandy were listed as her sons, but were actually her brothers: Ashley, Luther, & Murphy Lee Noland. Her 3 sons were Clifton, James Daniel, and John Cornelius (Neely). Clifton & James are also buried at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Church Cemetery. --Charlotte Patterson
