The Budded Cross. Three lobed ends or Buds, representing the trinity. Also known as Trefoil, Bottony, Botonee.
Botonee Cross - So named because of its modified trefoil (three-lobed) ends, represents the trinity.
This cross is known in heraldry as the Treflee, Trefoil, Bontonee or Bottony Cross (from the French bouton a button)
In Celtic Druidry the three lobes represent the three dominions of earth, sky and sea.
